Bi-Lingual Resource Specialist
Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas is seeking a bilingual resource specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
1. Offer child care and community referrals to individuals and/or families following established guidelines and standards.
2. Conduct provider vacancy checks and parent follow-up contacts.
3. Accurately record and report all activities
4. Work effectively with all members of the referral services team and the overall agency.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct provider vacancy checks and parent follow-up contacts, either by phone or email
a. Keep provider vacancy information in the database current, updating at least quarterly.
b. Conduct parent follow-up contacts to verify that referrals lists have been received and family has located care.
2. Accurately record and report all activities.
a. Add all referrals or other contacts into database for data collection purposes daily.
b. Regularly review records to verify accuracy of data.
3. Work effectively with all members of the referral services team and the overall agency, maintaining a commitment to high-quality customer service.
a. Attend all staff and project meetings.
b. Work cooperatively with others, sharing your skills, strengths, and expertise to the benefit of the agency and team.
c. Maintain regular communication with staff.
d. Attempt to resolve conflict with a staff member first, directly with that person, and then take the issue to a supervisor when needed.
e. Support the agency’s mission.
f. Follow all personnel guidelines and represent the agency in a professional manner.
g. Provide the highest quality of customer service possible in every instance.
4. Other, as assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
1. Effective communication skills (written and verbal), in English and Spanish.
2. Effective listening skills (in-person and over the telephone).
3. Good attention to detail and accuracy with data entry.
4. Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to learn WorkLife Systems (WLS) database.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
1. High school diploma or GED. (Post-secondary coursework is a “plus.”)
2. Experience working with young children in a regulated child care setting is helpful but not required.
WEIGHT LIFTING (OR OTHER PHYSICAL) REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
1. Ability to hear and verbally respond to conversations over the telephone and in person.
2. Ability to type information using a computer keyboard.
3. Ability to sit for long periods of time (6-8 hours per day).
4. Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift approximately 20 pounds.
LICENSING OR OTHER SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. Must pass a comprehensive background check.
2. Must attain ongoing professional development annually, relevant to the position and scope of work as requested/ assigned by supervisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
